Epitomics, Inc. produces high quality antibodies with its breakthrough monoclonal antibody technology (RabMAb.) Epitomics works hand-in-hand with Canary scientists in the Antibody Research Unit at the British Columbia Cancer Agency.

Compared to currently available monoclonal antibody technology, such as mouse hybridomas, the Company's proprietary technology can generate RabMAbs more efficiently and with superior binding affinity and bioactivity in a wide variety of biological assays. The high throughput and robust nature of the technology allows for speedy and parallel development of multiple biomarker antibodies.

The Company is headquartered in Burlingame, California and operates a wholly owned subsidiary in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China.

GenoLogics develops scientific data management systems (SDMS) and lab information management (LIMS) solutions for life sciences research labs. Their holistic integrating solutions can be implemented across multiple labs and many sciences, and can be used to support translational medicine and systems biology initiatives.

GenoLogics' products offer great promise for scientific collaboration and sharing of data. Genologics has provided systems and guidance to Canary supported projects as well as driving fundraising events in British Columbia like the Canary Derby for technology companies in Victoria.

LabKey Software builds open source systems to help scientists collect, analyze, and share data from high-throughput experiments and observational studies. It is based in Seattle, housed in and partly owned by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC). LabKey software powers data repositories at some of the most prestigious research institutes in the country and manages terabytes of data daily.

LabKey has been awarded two Canary technology development grants. The first in 2005 funded the transformation of CPAS from an FHCRC-internal application into an application that can be installed, supported, and routinely upgraded in any institution easily. The second award is ongoing and supports the installation and development of CPAS at specific institutions with the goal of spreading the technology that will ultimately support broad collaboration and sharing of data between labs and institutions. Dozens of labs and research institutions now rely on CPAS in production environments.

Potential future developments from LabKey could include a hosted CPAS service which would bring the technology within reach for even smaller labs and integration with public domain file-sharing systems to further simplify publishing, searching and retrieval of experimental data within CPAS.
