Government

Canary and BCCA have partnered to create a pipeline to streamline the creation, testing and use of antibodies for biomarkers under investigation in Canary disease specific programs. Canary supported researchers in the Ovarian, Lung, Prostate and Pancreatic Programs all can access the BCCA pipeline to speed and streamline their work.

Canary works with NCI to encourage funding and support of early detection initiatives. Canary partners with NCI’s Early Detection Research Network (see EDRN below) and NCI has recognized and supported Canary’s annual Early Detection Symposium. In 2008 Dr. John Niederhuber, Director of NCI, was a Canary Symposium Keynote Speaker.

The Early Detection Research Network (EDRN), Bethesda, Maryland
Canary Foundation and EDRN have come together to jointly fund a multi-investigator project for biomarker discovery in lung cancer among people who have never smoked. In addition, EDRN provides invaluable statistical and data management support to the Canary Foundation Prostate Active Surveillance Study of men with prostate cancer.
