We need volunteers on an ongoing basis for miscellaneous office duties, mailings, packaging, data input, database maintenance, phone follow up, newsletters and web help. Our scheduled events depend on volunteers to help with registration, auctions, setup and breakdown.

Current open volunteer positions:

Web content volunteer — Canary is looking for a volunteer to help update content, design, navigation and information architecture of our website on an ongoing basis. The volunteer will acquire content changes from Canary founder and staff, will fit the content within the information architecture of the website and will communicate all content and design changes to our technical web developer who will actually implement and publish the website. Looking for someone with good editing skills, design ideas, detail oriented and persistent nature to acquire content from staff. Will occasionally have to meet with staff in person in San Jose or the Peninsula area. Volunteer time varies but typically is about 3 hours a week and ideal time commitment would be at least a year.

PowerPoint Presentation Volunteer — We are looking for a volunteer with graphic design and PowerPoint experience to help make ongoing changes to our electronic presentations. This volunteer will primarily interface with our founder to get conceptual ideas and creatively translate the ideas into the PowerPoint presentation using graphics and other digital media.
